The Black Panther actor battled the illness privately, and has never discussed his cancer in public. His family confirmed the news on Instagram in an emotional statement.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” the statement read.
“Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.”
WHO IS CHADWICK BOSEMAN?
Boseman is best known for playing the titular character T’Challa/Black Panther in the 2018 Marvel Studios/Disney blockbuster, Black Panther.
It became the first ever superhero film to receive a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards, and was the first film in the Marvel Cinematics Universe to win an Oscar. Against a budget of $US 200 million, Black Panther grossed an astronomical $US1.347 billion – making it the 11th highest grossing movie of all time.
Prior to Black Panther, Boseman’s character T’Challa was introduced in MCU’s Captain America: Civil War in 2016.
Boseman subsequently appeared in MCU films as Black Panther including Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and the highest grossing film ever, Avengers: Endgame (2019).
While filming these blockbusters, Boseman was undergoing countless surgeries and chemotherapy in private.

Speaking about his groundbreaking role in Black Panther, Boseman told Hunger in 2017 he had prayed about portraying the part.
“I had already written about Black Panther in my journals as something that I wanted to do and I had written down certain things that I would like to see in a movie about Black Panther,” Boseman said.
“I’d had people tell me that if there was gonna be a Black Panther movie then I should be the one to play him, so when they called me it was surreal. You pray for something and then it actually occurs, you almost can’t believe it.
“There was no way in the world I was not going to play Black Panther, I had asked for that, I wanted it, and it felt like other people wanted it for me.”

His most recent films were action thriller 21 Bridges (2019) with Sienna Miller and Netflix war drama Da 5 Bloods (2020).
His final film, which is yet to be released and in post-production, is upcoming Netflix drama Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, which is co-produced by Denzel Washington.
Filming wrapped in August last year. It does not yet have a release date.
Boseman plays trumpeter Levee in the film, which is set in Chicago in the 1920s and deals with issues of race, art, religion and will delve into the exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.
Black Panther 2 had been announced for a May 2022 release but has not yet begun production.
EARLY CAREER
Born in 1976 in South Carolina to African American parents Leroy and Carolyn, Boseman graduated from Howard University in Washington in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing.
He got his first television role in 2003, in an episode of Third Watch. His early work included roles in Law & Order, CSI: NY, and ER, as he wrote plays on the side.
Boseman got a big break in 2008 with a recurring role on the television series Lincoln Heights and appeared in his first feature film, The Express: The Ernie Davis Story. He then landed a regular role in 2010 in another television series, Persons Unknown.
In 2013 Boseman was considering giving up acting and focusing on his early dreams of being a director when he scored his debut starring role in the film 42, in which he portrayed baseball pioneer and star Jackie Robinson.
The following year he starred alongside Kevin Costner in Draft Day, in which he played an NFL draft prospect, and backed that up with roles on Get on Up and Gods of Egypt.

He had unsuccessfully auditioned for Drax in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), but this screen test later helped him nab the role of Black Panther.
“Well, sometimes, that’s the way it works as an actor. You go in knowing you’re not gonna get it, but you’re meeting the people that, you know they might be like, ‘It’s not this, but we’ll put him in this other thing’,” he told Jimmy Fallon last year.
“So, I feel like that was one of the moments where they were like, ‘Hey, we could use him later’.”

“You can’t fake your essence,” O’Donnell told Busy Phillips on her podcast Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best.
“That’s why I have compassion for Ellen, right? I have compassion, even though, you know, I hear the stories and I understand. I think she has some social awkwardness.”

O’Donnell, 58, who used to have her own talk show The Rosie O’Donnell Show from 1996 to 2002, further revealed why she had never appeared as a guest on The Ellen Show.
“You know how Ellen surprises everyone?” she said, “I’ve never done that show because I’m terrified she’s going to scare me and give me a heart attack.”
It comes as an internal investigation by WarnerMedia continues into a series of shocking allegations by past and current employees who described a “toxic work environment” with a culture of “racism, fear and intimidation”. They also claimed there was widespread sexual misconduct among the top executives at the show.
Executive producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman were sacked from the show earlier this month, with the investigation ongoing.
DeGeneres is set to return to work for Season 18 of her talk show in September.

Locally Channel 9 pulled The Ellen DeGeneres Show from its schedule. The network, which was airing repeats of the talk show from noon each day, has replaced it with Desperate Housewives.
“We are resting Ellen repeats on Nine and have replaced with Desperate Housewives,” a spokesperson confirmed to news.com.au.
However, the spokesperson denied the show had been “axed”.
“Nine haven’t axed anything – we have been playing repeats on Nine which will continue on 9Gem. Discussions are ongoing regarding the new series.”

“Riley was a friend, a brother, a son. Riley was both a larger than life rock star and a humble and giving friend,” the family wrote.
“He touched so many lives through his lyrics and through his huge heart. He treated everyone he met as a friend and he always took care of his friends.
“We will celebrate Riley’s life and never forget the great works of music, charity, and love that he left behind. You, the fans, meant so much to him, please know how special you are,” the family said, inviting fans to share their memories.

The band released two full-length albums, 2013’s Manifest Decimation and 2017’s Nightmare Logic, with compilation album Opening Fire out in 2018, and Live in Seattle released earlier this year.
Tributes for the singer have flowed on social media today, with rapper Ice-T – who had worked with Gale on one of his band Body Count’s recent tracks – telling fans he was “devastated”.
Devastated to hear about Riley Gale’s passing. Power Trip has had a massive impact on the metal community, and Riley’s ferocious drive and passion were such a big part of why. He was a great artist, a good friend, a real one. Metal won’t be the same without him.

Rose McGowan says her Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano makes her want to vomit
There appears to be no love lost between the two former co-stars as they publicly attacked each other on Twitter.
Some of the tweets have since been deleted.
McGowan, 46, is a face of the MeToo movement after she went public with her claims that Harvey Weinstein had raped her,
She is also an outspoken critic of presidential candidate Biden and his supporters after she sided with his accuser Tara Reade, who claims the former VP assaulted her in 1993. Biden has denied any wrongdoing.
In response to Biden’s speech on Friday night where he said Donald Trump had “cloaked America in darkness for much too long,” McGowan tweeted: “You are the season of darkness @JoeBiden @dnc. You are monsters. You are frauds. You are the lie.”

The comments drew criticism from thousands of users defending the Democratic party including Milano herself.
Milano, 47, responded with a 26-tweet thread of “all the things the Democratic Party has done to make the world a better place”, beginning 100 years ago.

“Rose and anyone bleating the same ‘dEmOcRaTs DoNt HeLp PeOpLe’ nonsense, your lies are going to hurt people less privileged than you. It’s the kind of thing an ACTUAL fraud would do. Thousands of people are dying a day but you go on with your hyperbolic attention-seeking tweets,” Milano said.
In this new tit-for-tat war, McGowan sent another explosive tweet, accusing Milano of hijacking the MeToo movement from its creator Tarana Burke and claimed she was a toxic person to work with.
“You stole #metoo (a brilliant communication tool, not a movement) from Tarana (Burke). You co-opted my movement, the Cultural Reset, for fame, jealous of me for outing my rapist. You made 250k per week on Charmed,” she tweeted.

“It’s been ups and downs, and we still keep working at the relationship. I think a relationship is constant work. It’s not easy,” the Spanish actress, 43, told the publication.
She added that any hardship they’ve encountered has only made their union stronger.
“I always try to see the positives of things.”
Hemsworth, 37, was introduced to Pataky by William Ward, a talent agent in LA, in early 2010. The pair got married just three months later in December.
The actress, author and mum of India, 8, and six-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan, said one such struggle of their early days as husband and wife came as she adjusted to motherhood, admitting she felt “lost” in the new role.
“I remember feeling a bit lost when I had India,” she said.
“I thought my life was going to be the same (when I had kids) and I would keep working. But I couldn’t. Chris would come home and say, ‘How was your day?’ And I didn’t feel proud to say: I’m just a mum. But you should. Because it’s the hardest but greatest job in the world.”

Once Pataky became used to her role as a mother, she decided to hit pause on her career, she said.
“I really liked being with the kids.
“I wanted to take them to school and pick them up every day. I just love that moment. I didn’t grow up with my parents (around) and I missed that so much, so I wanted to give that to my kids.”
“I love acting, but having balance is important to me. So, if something comes along that fits into my life and lets me work close to home, then I’m happy to do it,” she added of her career, hinting we could be seeing her on the screen soon.
Pataky and Hemsworth bought their sprawling hilltop property for $7 million in the chilled coastal town of Byron Bay in 2014.
In May, Hemsworth revealed what prompted their big move from bustling LA to blissful Byron Bay six years ago.

Now, it’s hard to imagine the hunky Aussie moviestar and stunning actress, often seen chilling out on the beach with their three children and dog Sunny, living anywhere else.
“You’re a little bit too much in the eye of the storm when you’re living in Hollywood,” Hemsworth said of the move.
“Living in Australia, it’s also easier to detach myself from work – and you get a bit more leeway to let a few emails and phone calls slide on by.”

The musician’s on-again, off-again presidential campaign has been embroiled with controversy since the start.
Kanye launched his presidential bid at a trainwreck campaign event last month, where he broke down in tears after revealing in a monologue about abortion that he and his wife considered the option with their first child, North West.
He then flew to his ranch in Wyoming where he launched a series of extraordinary attacks on his wife Kim Kardashian and her family in tweets, sparking concerns for his mental health.
His wife later asked for “compassion” while linking his behaviour to his bipolar disorder, which the 43-year-old has spoken about publicly in the past.

He said during the meeting, they discussed a book about black capitalism – Dr Claude Anderson’s Powernomics.
Despite publicly backing Mr Trump in 2016 and meeting with him in the White House in 2018, Kanye more recently appeared to suggest he was no longer a supporter of the President, telling Forbes he was “taking the red hat off”.

But in another interview with Forbes, he did not deny he was running a spoiler campaign, saying he was “walking to win”.
Mr Trump recently told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that he had not talked with Kanye about the campaign, Reuters reported.
The President also told reporters he had nothing to do with the rapper’s presidential bid. “I like him. He’s always been very nice to me,” he said.
“(He’s) got a good heart, very good heart. No, I have nothing to do with him getting on the ballot. We’ll have to see what happens. We’ll see if he gets on the ballot. But I’m not involved.”
At the moment, Kanye can only win votes in five states after missing a number of deadlines to appear on ballots.
A presidential candidate needs at least 270 electoral college votes to win the election.

Writing on The Tig , the former Suits actress gushed: “When we have drinks, I will make sure I order whatever she does – because this woman seems to have the formula for success (and happiness) down pat.”
But no mention was made of their acquaintance in new unofficial biography Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, with Brown claiming this was a deliberate move.
Writing for the Mail on Sunday, he said: “The authors of Finding Freedom conveniently airbrush Ivanka from the record, perhaps fearful that the Trump formula for success and happiness might jar against Harry and Meghan’s new mission to build a humanitarian legacy that will make a profound difference in the world.”
Relations between the women are said to have soured when Meghan criticised Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election, and he later called her “nasty”.
The Duchess accused him of being “misogynistic” and “divisive” during the campaign. She also pledged to vote for his rival Hillary Clinton.

Reports suggested that the photo, which featured the Cambridges and Sussexes alongside Charles and Camilla, had been an “absolute nightmare” to shoot because of the deteriorating relationship between Harry and William.

“Of course schedules do come into that but the other reason I was given was that the boys have in the past run hot and cold with their father.
“He’s not just their father, he’s also the future king and their boss – he’s the purse keeper.
“There are many political things here which can feed into a very up and down relationship, and it was felt by those at Clarence House that it was a headache to put together.”
In the bombshell book Finding Freedom, the authors revealed how sources added the photo was difficult to arrange because “neither William nor Harry made much of an effort to make themselves available”.

Simpson has known her for years and confirmed stories that he’d had a crush on the star since he was a kid and she was a child star.
“I always had an affinity for her,” he told The Project in October.
“I’ve always had a crush on her, I told her that … it worked,” he joked.

Not long after they got together, Cyrus said Simpson made her realise that not all men were “evil”.

The singer revealed that the first male she had sex with was Liam Hemsworth, whom she married in December 2018.
“I didn’t go all the way with a dude until I was 16, but I ended up marrying the guy,” Cyrus said on the podcast.

MILEY’S SPLIT FROM HEMSWORTH
Cyrus and Hemsworth called it quits less than a year after tying the knot.
The singer and the Aussie actor issued a statement confirming that they had separated.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a spokesman for Cyrus told People magazine last August.
“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
The pair had a rocky, on-again, off-again relationship for years since meeting in 2009 on the set of the romantic drama The Last Song.

Cyrus and Hemsworth first became engaged in 2012 but broke up a year later, before reconciling in 2015.
While Cyrus and Hemsworth were committed to each other for years, marriage was never a priority.
But that all changed in December 2018 when they wed during an intimate ceremony at their home in Franklin, Tennessee, after their beloved Malibu home burned down in the California wildfires.
The secret wedding ceremony took place in the pair’s lounge room, with Cyrus filmed dancing to Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson in wedding dress by Vivienne Westwood.
